November 07 Meeting- Michelle Peters Presents Five Minute Arrangements
(left) Michelle Peters , the November garden club presenter, smiles over one of the arrangements she prepared. It featured berries, apples, pine cones and greens in a small wintry basket for a natural look. (right) Michelle's arrangements were raffled off to the 60 or so garden club members who attended this much looked- forward- to meeting. There were many guests, as garden club members invited friends and relatives to the meeting. (Michelle was our September presenter as well, and was so much admired that she was invited back.)
Liz Gilbert (right) was the happy raffle winner of Michelle's arrangement.
(left) Michelle prepares a carnation topiary in a garden pot. The topiary was accented with a plaid bow and a base of greens. Michelle's arrangements were simple, quick and easy to make. She demonstrated how to make them from the beginning so that garden club members would feel comfortable creating them at home.
(right) This small tree was built with variegated boxwood, topped with birch and berry branches and decorated with roses, multi-colored carnations and red Christmas balls. This arrangement was much coveted by the members during the raffle.
(left) White hydrangeas, baby's breath, and pinecones decorate this all white and green boxwood wreath. The wreath may be hung on the wall or used in the center of the table, with candles in the center of the wreath. Since it is constructed on an Oasis filled plastic frame, it can be dunked in the sink and kept watered for longer life. (Of course, you will need protection for the table.)
The Oneonta Garden club members were delighted with the program and Michelle's generous donation of the arrangements for raffling.
Not only did we have an outstanding program, but added to our treasury as well.
Thanks, Michelle for all your hard work and for the long trip from your shop, Ambiance Florals and Events, 116 Everett Road in Albany. Michelle's shop may be reached at www.AmbianceForals.com.
