Our Garden Club meeting on October 10, 2011 featured Dawn Minette and a truly wonderful program called "Table Settings for All Occasions". On this page are several of the table settings that Dawn arranged and discussed at length.
(top left) Dawn placed her plates on a ruby charger that matched the ruby dishes. She also displayed a fresh bouquet of dahlias supplied by Gwen Schuster from her own garden. The dahlia bouquet was raised on a cake plate.
(top right) Dawn found these blue and white dishes in various Oneonta locations and placed them on a gold charger. She chose a floral tablecloth in the blue and yellow colors and featured a yellow birdcage for fun. A rolled napkin with a gold napkin ring added to the arrangement.
(Bottom left) Dawn presents her guests with a printed menu that tells the theme of the party and the accompanying menu. Dawn also gave the garden club members a handout with several of the recipes she uses for her guests.
The black and white theme included square plates on a square gold charger and gold silverware.
She placed a specially folded napkin in the center and another in the glass.
(Bottom right) A 9/11patriotic themed party used an eagle soup dish on a ruby charger. These were arranged on a quilt made by our own Deb Clough.
The handout included diagrams of table settings with proper placement of the silverware and glasses as well as suggestions for themes and appropriate menus.
This was a remarkable program, both informative and delightful.
