Recognizing Three Wonderful Garden Club Board Members
(Fourth from the left) Elna George has recently resigned from the Oneonta Garden Club board as librarian, a position she held for many years. Elna is a former garden club president and faithfully attended club events. She was chairman of an early flower show and received many awards for the show. She participated in the annual Greens Sale shows with her much anticipated cake. Elna will still keep her membership in the club, but will no longer serve as the club's librarian. Thank you, Elna, for your years of service.
(last person on the right) Jean Miller passed away last year and will be truly missed by all who knew her and by our club. She served on the garden club board as horticulture chairman, often giving tips on gardening. She was passionate about our environment and active in protesting gas drilling. For several years she represented our garden club at Earth Day in Milford. The sunny smile in the photo of her is typical of the person we knew. We will miss her.
(Fourth in from the right) Elaine Nahman served the garden club board as treasurer, keeping careful records and giving meticulous reports to the board. She had enormous energy in everything she did and led the way in many projects. At present she is working with area schools as outreach from the garden club. The schools are planting gardens and maintaining them. Elaine, as a Master Gardener, helps with planning. Congratulations, Elaine, in your new role.
